Hospitality Bulletin
As you may have heard, our longtime headquarters, the Northern Inn, is no longer available. Our hosts are now the Bemidji Curling Club. They know all about being passionate over a fairly obscure sport. These are the folks who brought back a bronze medal from the last Winter Olympics. The Club is located at 1230 23rd St NW. See our home page for a map and directions.
The local hotels do not have much parking space. We've arranged with the Bemidji Speedway and the Northwest Technical College to provide you with parking space for trailers, motorhomes or large service vehicles if necessary. Ask at registration or email us for details.
We will be doing our traditional pizza and pop meal on Friday night at the Curling Club. Even though it's harder to toddle off to bed with a piece of pizza in your hand, we hope you'll join us for a snack at the end of the night. We've ordered 100 pizzas, and we'll do our best to make sure even the latest crews have some available, as there's not much food around in Bemidji at that time of night. Due to a number of requests last year, we've ordered more veggie pizzas.
The banquet and awards presentation will again be at the Curling Club on Saturday night. The Club's license allows them to serve beer and setups. For those of you unfamiliar with this term, you may either purchase beer or buy a glass with whatever you'd like in it - coke, ice, 7Up, air - from the bar, and add your own alcohol. That's right, you bring your own bottle and purchase mixers. Please buy your beverages from the bar, as it benefits the Club.
Please be aware that Minnesota has a very strictly enforced open bottle law, so be sure to stash your bottle in the trunk on the way home. We ask that you drink responsibly and have a designated driver.
The Curling Club is located in a city park, and no alcohol is allowed in any of the surrounding parking lots.
Enjoy!

The Northern Inn, longtime headquarters for the Ojibwe Forests Rally, and its sister hotel, the Comfort Inn Bemidji have been sold. Last day of operation for this Bemidji landmark is March 31, 2008. The Ojibwe Forests Rally organizing committee has been working with the local Visitor and Convention Bureau and the Bemidji Curling Club to set up new headquarters facilities with minimal disruption to the current rally operations. While the loss of the excellent registration, meeting and party facility is a blow, we feel that the Bemidji Curling Club offers a great alternative. What can't be easily replaced are 120 hotel rooms in the Bemidji area.
We have set up blocks of rooms at the AmericInn, Holiday Inn Express and Super 8 to help relieve the reservation stress. (Reservation code is OFR.) The Comfort Inn has already changed management and reservations made there before the sale should still be valid. We urge everyone to make reservations as early as possible. See below for information. If Bemidji becomes booked for the weekend, we'll post alternatives in nearby communities.

Ojibwe Forests Named Rally America's National Rally of the Year for 2007.
At the Rally America 2007 Awards Banquet, held in Houghton, Michigan, the Ojibwe Forests Rally was presented with the coveted Rally of the Year trophy. "Their consistent performance, despite some challenges, made them an easy choice," said JB Niday, Rally America Managing Director. "The long final stage produced a lot of drama for the fans, as well."
"This is a tribute to our workers, " said Karen Freund, Ojibwe Forests co-chair. "They know their jobs, and work together like a well-oiled machine."
Ojibwe Forests was previously named Rally of the Year in 1986, 1999 and 2001.
